At PXM we follow guidelines set forth by Goom, Donnelly & Brockwell – all sport and pelvic health specialists – to assess the body’s readiness to return to running postpartum.

Return to running criteria:
- Greater than 3 months postpartum
- No leaking prior to running
- No report of heaviness of vulva bulging prior to running
- No non-menstrual cycle related bleeding
- 10 times fast pelvic floor contractions
- 8-12 reps of 6-8 seconds MAX hold pelvic floor contractions
- 60 seconds sub-maximal pelvic floor contraction holds in standing
